Marshal:

The Great Hunt returns!

Greetings good gentles. I come to you with news. This year at Pax Interruptus in the Barony of Thescorre, our youth fighters will be going on a Great Hunt once again. “What is that,” you may ask. Well, let me explain.

You see, our youth will be in teams determined by attendance and divisions. Throughout the day, the teams will be given the chance to hunt down various beasts from history and fantasy, portrayed by our noble Youth Sparring Partners. Each beast will be different in how they can be dealt with. Last year many noble beasts gave their time and lives for the joy of our youth.
So, please come to play and hunt. The more youth, the better. More sparring partners are welcome as well. If you are a Marshal or MIT, this is a good opportunity as well. If there is a particular beast you would like to see, feel free to let me know so I can develop the rules for it.

Yours in service,

Youth MIC: Sigvaldi inn Enski

Link to Full Site MAP

Linked map of the event can be accessed by clicking on the word “Link to Full Site Map” above. Please note that there are more areas labeled on the site map than are being used for Pax. We will be using the Main Lodge, Maple and Pine Cabins, and the Pax Archery and Thrown Weapons Ranges, along with the Fighting and Rapier Fields adjacent to the Main Lodge.
If you click on a noted section of the map, it will take you to images and a document with more info on that area of the site. Or you can click the links below for each section noted here.

Main Lodge:

LINK to Main Hall Layout Map

Entrances:
Small Hall Side: At‑grade entrances with concrete pads.
Large Hall Side: Exterior door has a single step down to the leach field/fighting area.
Large and small halls are connected. One can enter through either hall to get to the other.

Bathrooms:
Bathroom 1 (Most Usable):
Grab bars and lower sink
Narrow hallway (~32″) and tight turn
Not ADA compliant
Not accessible for scooters or large wheelchairs
Rollators generally fit
Bathroom 2:
Larger interior but no accessible route
Access blocked by laundry room layout and lack of ramp
Not ADA compliant
Functionally inaccessible

Lodging (Links to Maple and Pine Camps):

  • 15 rustic cabins are available.
  • Each cabin sleeps 4 people.
  • Individuals can rent cabin space for $5 each.
  • Please note in your reservation if you are attempting to share a cabin with specific people.

Maple Cabins
8 cabins, all with significant accessibility limitations
Walk from Lodge is hilly and uneven
No interior power or lighting
Entry lips ~2″ on most cabins
Interiors too narrow for assisted transfers or turning mobility devices
Pine cabins
7 cabins, most with 1–2 steps at entry
Two shelters with lights and power
One gazebo with bench swings
No confirmed interior power in cabins (verify with site)
Most Accessible Option
Cabin 7:
Exterior outlet
Uneven board/ramp at front door; small lip
Back door ramp includes a step
Still not ADA compliant

Shower House:

Exterior Access:
Ramps: Concrete ramps are provided on both sides of the shower house. Ramp height is approximately 6 inches at the upper landing.
Pathways: Sidewalks leading to the entrances are standard width.
Entrance Configuration: A wall is positioned immediately adjacent to the doorway, creating a potentially restrictive turning radius for mobility device users. This may impede access for wheelchairs, scooters, and some rollators.
Exterior Shower Facilities:
Each side of the building includes two outdoor spigot‑style showers.
These fixtures are not designed for accessible use and do not include grab bars, privacy accommodations, or accessible controls.
Interior Shower Area:
Total Stalls: Four indoor shower stalls.
“Accessible” Stall: One stall is slightly larger and labeled as accessible; however, it is not usable by wheelchair or scooter users due to:
Doorway width that does not meet accessibility standards (confirmed by camp maintenance).
Angled shower door that further restricts maneuverability.
Absence of properly installed grab bars (confirmed by camp maintenance).
General Access: The doorway leading into the shower area is too narrow for most mobility devices.
Sinks:
Three stainless‑steel sinks are installed at a lower height, approximately 30 inches from the ground (hip height).
While the height may benefit some users, the sinks do not appear to meet accessibility requirements for knee clearance or approach space.
Toilet Stalls:
Total Stalls: Three toilet stalls—two standard‑size stalls and one slightly larger stall.
Grab Bars: No grab bars are installed in any stall.
Stall Access: The entry to the larger stall is not wide enough to accommodate most mobility devices, limiting its functional accessibility.

We will have ADA compliant porta johns available.
